Republicans scream with righteous indignation that Democrats are planning to pack the courts in a Biden/Harris adminstration.
Republicans are just trying to change the narrative. The issue is not what Democrats might do if they win the White House and the Senate in November. The real issue is:
Republicans, calling for the need for “law & order,” condemn all protests due to a small percentage of violent individuals, and don’t blink an eye when militarized forces are used against peaceful protestors.
Democrats need to call this out for what it is - a racist dog whistle from the Nixon era. Nixon used the phrase in response to Vietnam War and civil rights protestors to appeal to older and middle-age white Americans by associating hippies with marijuana and Black people with heroin in support of his “war on drugs.”
Republicans are trying to make fracking an issue in this election, claiming a Biden/Harris administration will ban it, thereby destroying jobs and livelihoods.
While Democrats need to reinforce that Biden/Harris have clearly stated they will NOT ban fracking, the more important message is that fracking and all fossil fuel technologies have a short shelf life as renewable, sustainable, green energy becomes cheaper and more profitable. The fossil fuel industry cannot fight the future, it must adapt or die.
Republicans claim that Democrats fair housing policies will destroy the suburbs and threaten suburban women.
Democrats need to call this out for what it is - a racist dog whistle from the 1950’s used to scare white people about black people moving into their suburban neighborhoods. It has no place in this, or any other, millenia.
